Cross Country

On a cloudy day, we were getting ready for cross country. Ms Tuipulotu, my teacher wrote our year number on our hands, I was year 6. We went to the shade and waited for Miss Green, Miss Mills and the teachers for the instructions, some parents were with us too. We were with Kauri team, I was quite nervous because I didn't really know the way. We went to the hall so the teachers could tell the instructions, it was about no pushing or shoving, following the cones and not going past the parents. Then we went back to the shade the teachers said year 6 was going first. We went in a line and then the teachers blowed the whistle, we started running. I decided to run slowly at first, I felt like I was running past skyscrapers and buildings I also felt like I was faster. I kept running and never stopped I started to get tired but that didn't stop me. I started running past a lot of people, I reached the rugby field and I was so tired, I couldn't run anymore so I started jogging. I reached the car park I was so out of breath I could hardly breath. I didn't stop running because I was so close to the finish line. I used up all the energy I had left and I pasted the finish line, I wasn't first, second or third but what mattered was that I completed it. I watched the rest of the people go past the finish line, I was so proud of myself because I tried my best.
