The Cook Island Visit

Yesterday, we had some visitors from the Cook Islands. Their names were Philomina and Elizabeth Akaruru.  Philomina played the Guitar and Elizabeth played the Ukelele. The Ukelele looked different from the Ukeleles in our school. They played many Cook Island songs together and didn't make a single mistake in each song and I forgot all their names but they sounded very good. They also sang the song while playing which I've once experienced, it was pretty hard. We clapped along and sang a bit, it sounded amazing. After singing she told us some stories about her and her friends and the most interesting fact for me was that she was a very good sports woman because we saw her in a photo playing for the Royal Oak Bowling Club. She shared us some words of encouragements like " You do your best or play your best and if you win, that's great but if you lost the game, it's ok too because it is very important to always give it a go. Then Taito thanked them before leaving and they left to go to Room 25.

I forgot to mention that Philominna and Elizabeth are sisters.

Mission To Mars

My Four Hero's.

My first hero is my mum. If I don't have her, I wouldn't be here. If she's gone, she will be the ocean calling me from anywhere or anytime. She does a lot of work while we're away, she cleans after our breakfast, She prepares a lot of stuff for us, She wakes up very early to prepare for us and stays up very late to do many other important things. My second hero is my dad. If we didn't have him, we wouldn't here either. If we didn't have our dad, we might be poor because my dad makes a lot of money each month. He sometimes try his best to cheer us up and wakes up early to go to work. My third hero is my grandma. If we didn't have her, we wouldn't have our dad and without my dad we wouldn't be here. My grandma is a hero to me because she raised us up along side my mum and dad. She told us many stories about what would happen to us if we forgot important stuff. She is a hardworking person like my mum, she does a lot of stuff taking care of us and her house everyday. My fourth hero is my grandpa because he can do a lot of cooking. he goes to different places to help in many restaurants. he is also a person that likes building, creating, decorating and making his house better.

Our Last Garden to Table Session for 2019

Today was the end of our Garden to Table session. I was in the gardening group and we did four different things today. First was putting some soft and wet rubbish in some kind of spinning bin thing that looked like 2 bins connected to each other. We teared the rubbish apart and put it in the bins, spinned it and we put some soft soil in it and spinned again. The second activity was to make sure everyone had a shovel because we were going to do some digging, I got a small one. We went to some little hills made of dirt and bark and many other stuff. We digged some out and put it in the wheelbarrows (I didn't know where the wheelbarrow

 took them). I got so sweaty doing that activity and everyone got tired. The next activity was a game. We had to put our shovel away and get some big plastic bottles and put it on the field like a racing track. The game was to get a wheelbarrow and race around the plastic bottles like a zig zag to the end. It was harder then it looked. When it was my turn it was very hard to turn the wheelbarrow and when I had to race back to my team I felt like falling over. The next activity was to sit in to benches, grabbed two handfuls of leaves and put it in a bucked and say a random fruit or vegetable, I said banana and chilly. Then it was time to eat, there was pizza and other yummy vegetables. My favorite was a pizza full of green herbs.
